Rockville – Joe C. Hoopingarner, 50, postmaster here died Tuesday afternoon in Union Hospital, Terre Haute where he was taken following a stroke Thursday. Mr. Hoopingarner was appointed postmaster under President Franklin Roosevelt to succeed Frank B. Harding. He was a veteran of WWI. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Jean and Lyndall; three brothers, Stanley and Ray Hoopingarner, Rockville and Perry Hoopingarner of near Brazil and a sister, Mrs. Ora Alexander, Judson.
